Kawaii Animation Exercises
A playful series of animation exercises created during my Animation course at KISP Adult Education. Centered around a fictional vegan bakery, these short animations explore soft pastel aesthetics, cheerful mascot design and accessible visual storytelling through a strong kawaii-inspired style.
Illustration and Animation Process
The illustrated characters and graphic elements were designed in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects, combining simple shapes, expressive motion and vibrant colour palettes to create a warm and approachable atmosphere. The project allowed me to experiment with character animation, timing and branding in a fun and visually consistent way.
Retro Advertising Experiment
Alongside the animated exercises, I also created a stylised promotional video for the fictional bakery. Unlike the character animations, this piece focused more on visual atmosphere and graphic experimentation. The commercial was edited and composited in After Effects using a fish-eye visual effect to create a trendy, distorted perspective inspired by retro advertisements and alternative youth culture aesthetics.
