Alle Dagen Van De Hel

A short film project exploring storytelling, atmosphere and emotion through cinematography, editing and visual composition.

A Poetic Exploration of War and Nature

Alle Dagen van de Hel is a short animated film created during my studies in animation and painting at art academy. The film was inspired by a self-written poem carrying the same title, allowing the written and visual storytelling to flow together as one poetic narrative.

Through painterly textures, soft transitions and atmospheric imagery, I explored the contrast between the brutality of the Vietnam War and the quiet softness of nature. Rather than focusing on explicit violence, the project aimed to capture emotion, memory and atmosphere in a more subtle and poetic way.

Animation Through Painting

Because the project was created within the context of both animation and painting, I experimented with combining traditional painterly techniques with digital animation. The layered brush textures and organic colour palettes helped strengthen the dreamlike and reflective tone of the film, giving the visuals a handmade and expressive feeling.

Process & Software

The animation was created using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. Throughout the process, I focused on atmosphere, rhythm and visual storytelling, using movement and composition to support the emotional tone of the poem.
